The refurbished GE Voluson E6 ultrasound machine is one of the best 4D ultrasound machines for sale today. It has outstanding image quality, and premium 4D imaging that is unparalleled in the market.

The Voluson E6 is part of GE’s Expert series of 4D Voluson ultrasound machines. It is one of two premium advanced-user GE Voluson E-series of 4D ultrasound machines for women’s health. It also has an excellent ergonomic design with floating keyboard and articulating 19″ HD LCD screen.

The used GE Voluson E6 is an excellent 4D imaging machine, and more budget-friendly than the premium Voluson E8 Expert 4D ultrasound system.

Providian Medical Voluson e6 Ultrasound Machine Review:

Voluson ultrasounds remain our top recommendations to buy a 4D ultrasound machine. No other manufacturer has met its technologies, image quality, and frame rate… and GE continues to evolve by introducing new technologies. The Voluson E6 has a slightly lower price than the Voluson E8, but the quality is as excellent and is our top recommendation for 4D ultrasound systems.

Q:What's the difference between the Voluson E6 and Voluson E8?

A: In general, the E6 is a slightly stepped-down version of the E8. They both have outstanding image quality, however, the E6 has fewer specialty transducers available, fewer high-end technologies, and half the beamforming channels as the E8.

Q:What is SonoAVC and SonoAVC Follicle?

A: SonoAVC automatically calculates the number and the volume of hypoechoic structures in a volume sweep.

Q:Do you have a Quick Start or Quick Guide reference for the Voluson e6?

A: Yes, you can view or download Providian Medical's Voluson e6 Quick Guide Knobology Training reference here.

Q:Can I connect the Voluson E6 to an external monitor and/or DVD-Recorder?

A: Yes, the used Voluson E6 for sale has DVD-D out, VGA OUT, and multiple S-Video outputs for connection to external recording devices.

Q:Does the Voluson connect to USB storage devices?

A: Yes, the Voluson E6 can export images to its DVD-R, Flash memory, or hard drive for images, backup, and patient data.

Q:Can I connect the Voluson E6 to my network to store my images or send them to a radiologist for review?

A: Yes, the Voluson E6 has full network capabilities, however, you'll need to let your Providian Medical representative know in advance that you'll need DICOM if you want to send your images to a PACS system or radiologist for review.

Q:Does the Voluson E6 have Triplex imaging capabilities?

A: Yes, the Voluson E6 has Triplex imaging for Spectral, Color, and 2D simultaneous imaging.

Q:What's the difference between 3D and 4D imaging?

A: Very little. This is similar to the difference between a snapshot from your camera or a video. 3D is a single image, while 4D is a live, real-time image. In 4D obstetric situations, you would be able to see the baby move, smile, yawn, stretch, etc. The 3D image is one static image while 4D is live continuous imaging.

Q:What is CrossXBeamCRI on the E6?

A: CrossXBeam on the GE Voluson E6 is also known as compound imaging. It allows the ultrasound transducer to see from multiple lines of site at different angles, as opposed to the standard line-of-site that's perpendicular to the transducer lens.

Q:What is SRI Speckle Reduction Imaging?

A: Speckle Reduction Imaging on the Voluson E6 portable ultrasound machine uses a special software algorithm to identify body tissue and eliminate artifact. The result provides a clearer image with reduced artifact.

Q:What is BT09, BT10, BT13, etc, on GE ultrasound machines?

A: This is GE's version of a software level. The "BT" stands for Breakthrough and the "0x" typically represents the year it was released. For example, in most situations, such as with a Voluson e6, a BT09 would be a used Voluson e6 with a software version of 9.x and released circa 2009.

Q:What is VOCAL?

A: VOCAL stands for Volume Calculation. It allows for calculations of volumes using 3D technology.

Q:What is STIC?

A: Spatio-Temporal Image Correlation is typically used in research for clinical assessment of the fetal heart. It acquires the fetal heart from a 4D image sequence and analyzes the image to create a 4D cine sequence that presents the fetal heart in a real-time multi-planar display.

Q:What is TUI?

A: Tomographic Ultrasound Imaging uses 4D imaging technology to create multiple "slices" of an image acquisition for clinical evaluation.
