The refurbished BK SonixTouch Q+ ultrasound machine is designed as a lightweight, compact point-of-care ultrasound with excellent near-field resolution.

A used BK Analogic SonixTouch Q+, while not a laptop portable unit, is lightweight and compact, and is designed specifically for the point-of-care market and reproductive medicine. Its target market uses the ultrasound for anesthesia, emergency medicine, musculoskeletal, and pain management.

The SonixTouch Q+ is touchscreen based, which is fully programmable for user customization.

Providian Medical SonixTouch Q+ Ultrasound Review

SonixTouch Q+ ultrasound machines have been known for excellent nearfield resolution. They’re easy to move from room-to-room, but obviously not as simple as a laptop-type ultrasound. On the other hand, the console based machines are more ergonomic and user friendly.

One of the more unique features is the SonixCam, which is an on-board HD video camera that allows you to stream and record the procedure as well as the ultrasound image.

Q:What is SonixGPS on the used SonixTouch Q+?

A: SonixGPS is Analogic's ultrasound transducer guidance positioning system. It uses sensors inside and out of the transducer to aid ultrasound guidance for nerve blocks, vascular access, and prostate biopsies.

Q:What is SonixShine?

A: SonixShine is BK's Needle Visualization option that enhances visualization for needle-guidance procedures.

Q:What is SonixHub?

A: SonixHub on the refurbished SonixTouch Q+ streamlines processes for credentialing, billing and QA processes.

Q:Can I connect the Analogic SonixTouch Q+ to my network to store my images or send them to a radiologist for review?

A: Yes, the BK SonixTouch Q+ has full network capabilities, however, you'll need to let your Providian Medical representative know in advance that you'll need DICOM if you want to send your images to a PACS system or radiologist for review.

Q:Does the BK SonixTouch Q+ have Triplex imaging capabilities?

A: Yes, the BK Analogic SonixTouch has Triplex imaging for Spectral, Color, and 2D simultaneous imaging.

Q:What is a "Point of Care" ultrasound machine?

A: "Point of Care" ultrasound machine refers to clinicians performing and interpreting ultrasound at the bedside. This includes surgery, emergency medicine, Intensive Care (ICU) and musculoskeletal care. "Point of Care" ultrasounds provide rapid diagnosis, visualization of tissue, and needle visualization for procedures at bedside.

Q:What is Needle Visualization or Needle Enhancement?

A: Ultrasounds designed for needle guidance use a beam-steering technology to try and get the ultrasound beam perpendicular to the needle, thereby improving visualization of the needle.

Q:Can I use the BK SonixTouch Q+ for needle-guidance procedures?

A: Yes, but we recommend getting the SonixShine software as well as the SonixGPS features to assist in needle guidance procedures.
