The refurbished Siemens Acuson P300 is a portable shared service ultrasound machine. Released in 2012, the Acuson P300 replaces Acuson’s previous portable ultrasound machine, the P50. The P300 provides full shared service capabilities, as well as transducers that range all the way up to 18MHz. It’s ideal for superficial imaging, and its other modalities make it a very good ultrasound machine for mobile businesses and smaller offices.

The Acuson P300 includes Speckle Reduction, Tissue Harmonics, Compound Imaging, and panoramic imaging technologies. It has a full array of transducers for all studies.

Providian Medical Expert Ultrasound Review

The used Acuson P300 ultrasound replaces the Siemens P50 as its portable ultrasound offering. It was an excellent choice, because the image quality on the P300 is much improved over the P50. The refurbished P300 runs Esaote transducers, and the system has the look and feel of Esaote’s portable ultrasound machines. Regardless, Acuson puts its own touches on these ultrasound machines and this is a great option for a mobile ultrasound machine.

Q:Does the Acuson P300 have Triplex imaging capabilities?

A: Yes, the Acuson P300 has Triplex imaging for Spectral, Color, and 2D simultaneous imaging.

Q:What is Needle Visualization or Needle Enhancement?

A: Ultrasounds designed for needle guidance use a beam-steering technology to try and get the ultrasound beam perpendicular to the needle, thereby improving visualization of the needle.

Q:Can I use the Acuson P300 for needle-guidance procedures?

A: Yes, we sell a lot of refurbished Acuson P300 systems to physicians using a portable ultrasound for needle-guided procedures.

Q:What is Spatial Compounding?

A: Spatial Compound Imaging allows the ultrasound transducer to see from multiple lines of site at different angles, as opposed to the standard line-of-site that's perpendicular to the transducer lens. The Acuson P300 is capable of up to 15 lines of sight from its transducers.

Q:What is Speckle Reduction Imaging?

A: Speckle Reduction Imaging uses a special software algorithm to identify body tissue and eliminate artifact. The result provides a clearer image with reduced artifact.

Q:What is a "Point of Care" ultrasound machine?

A: "Point of Care" ultrasound machine refers to the rapidly growing group of clinicians performing and interpreting ultrasound at the bedside. This includes surgery, emergency medicine, Intensive Care (ICU) and musculoskeletal care. "Point of Care" ultrasounds provide rapid diagnosis, visualization of tissue, and needle visualization for procedures at bedside. Some medical schools are providing ultrasound machines to their students to carry around during their clinical rotations.

Q:Does the Acuson P300 export images?

A: Yes, the Acuson P300 can export images to an its integrated DVD/CW RW, Flash memory, or DICOM network for images, backup, and patient data.

Q:Can I connect the Acuson P300 to my network to store my images or send them to a radiologist for review?

A: Yes, the Acuson P300 has full network capabilities, however, you'll need to let your Providian Medical representative know in advance that you'll need DICOM if you want to send your images to a PACS system or radiologist for review.
