Small Parts Ultrasound
Most people are aware that ultrasound machines are used in certain applications. For instance, nearly everyone knows that doctors use ultrasounds for obstetric and gynecologic procedures, such as for examining fetuses while still in the womb. And, a lot of people are knowledgeable about how doctors use ultrasound systems for cardiovascular applications.
But, many people are not aware of small parts ultrasound imaging. This ultrasound is a specialized type that requires a powerful type of ultrasound machine.
Ultrasound imaging of small parts is used by doctors and technicians to evaluate small organs in the body to look for disease or irregularities. Some small organs that are tested via ultrasound are the thyroid gland, the testes, and the liver.
Some ultrasound machines are specifically designed with small parts ultrasounds in mind, or at least with small parts imaging as one possible application of the ultrasound system. Other systems may not have the necessary applications or programs in order to do ultrasounds of small parts.
