Siemens portable ultrasound machine wins top design award

The Acuson P10, a pocket-size ultrasound machine manufactured by Siemens, earned a gold Medical Design Excellence Award in the radiological and electromechanical devices category. The award was one of many presented at the recent Medical Design and Manufacturing East 2008 Conference and Exposition. The event was held in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
"It is wonderful news that the design innovation has been recognized formally with this gold award," said Declan Dunphy, performance products manager for Siemens Healthcare. "The ACUSON P10 brings the latest technology to the patient, saving critical minutes when serious injuries and cardiac problems arise."
