Africa hospital hoping to replace stolen ultrasound machine

Although the theft of ultrasound equipment is always a serious matter, it is even more serious in the West Nile region of Africa, where the only ultrasound machine in the area was recently stolen. Police are investigating the theft from the Arua Referral hospital, according to a news story posted at AllAfrica.com.
"This was the only ultrasound machine in a government hospital in the entire region of West Nile," said Dr Charles Olaro, who added that some 50 patients, mostly expectant mothers, benefited from the machine every day.
